Dentistry With No Injection, No Suture, & No Damage
Did you know that many simple to complex oral conditions can be treated with minimally invasive laser dentistry as an alternative to either invasive surgery or pharmaceutical drugs? For this reason, Dr. Horiyat has implemented several modern and advanced laser technology. As a holistic and biological dentist, Dr. Horiyat often recommends LANAP® vs. antibiotic and invasive gum surgery; LAPIP ailed dental implant laser vs. implant removal surgery, and Nightlase® snoring laser vs. surgery. Dr. Horiyat is thrilled to provide the least invasive and most comfortable, powerful, and effective laser dental treatments to her patients.
LANAP® LASER PERIODONTAL TREATMENT
THE ONLY FDA-APPROVED LASER-BASED TREATMENT FOR GUM DISEASE AND TISSUE REGENERATION
WHAT IS LASER?
The term LASER is an acronym for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.” A laser is an instrument that creates light energy in a narrow beam that removes and shapes a tissue in the mouth.
As its first application in dentistry by Miaman, in 1960, the laser has seen various hard and soft tissue applications. In hard tissue application, the laser is used for caries prevention, bleaching, restorative removal and curing, cavity preparation, dentinal hypersensitivity, growth modulation, and diagnostic purposes, whereas soft tissue application includes wound healing, removal of hyperplastic tissue uncovering of impacted or partially erupted tooth, photodynamic therapy for malignancies, photo-stimulation of the herpetic lesion. The use of the laser proved to be an effective tool to increase the efficiency, specificity, ease, cost, and comfort of dental treatment.
WHAT LASER DENTISTRY CAN TREAT?
THE KEY BENEFITS OF LASER TREATMENTS
LASER OPTIONS AT ARIA DENTAL
At Aria Dental, Dr. Horiyat as a top holistic and biological dentist has implemented several modern and advanced laser technologies in her office for different applications to address and treat different oral conditions less invasively. We use different lasers with various wavelengths that treat abscesses, bacteria, herpetic legion, periodontal cases, TMJ pain, ulcers, and whitening.
LANAP® Regeneration lASER
LANAP Laser is a great alternative to conventional and invasive gum surgery; LANAP assists in gum tissue reattachment, new bone growth, and periodontal regeneration. As a LANAP-certified dentist, Dr. Horiyat utilizes this FDA-cleared laser to treat moderate to severe periodontal (gum) disease effectively and painlessly without any cuts or stitches while promoting true regeneration of the bone and gum.
Bio-stimulation, also known as low-level laser therapy, is a type of laser therapy that can stimulate anti-inflammatory properties in the TMJ structures by preventing the release of histamines and prostaglandins. This stimulation promotes reducing the pain from inflammation by increasing the blood flow to the treated area which ultimately stimulates healing.
Our laser is the ONLY laser that is FDA cleared for pain therapy. The exclusive beam-dispersing handpiece has several therapeutic applications, including providing temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain and stiffness.
DIODE SOFT TISSUE LASER
Diode lasers, photo-activated disinfection, emit continuous waves that work well for soft tissue procedures like incision, blood coagulation, hemostasis, and vaporization; it also aids with tooth whitening, herpetic lesion, and wound healing. Our expert and laser-licensed hygienist utilizes a diode laser as a sculpture and less invasive technique for certain dental cleaning including deep cleaning to treat gum disease.
LASER CAVITY DETECTION
This hi-tech laser cavity detection system (Diagnondent™) is a pen-like probe and new detection device, which sends a safe, and painless laser beam into the tooth without any radiation to measure internal fluorescence and ultimately identify the presence of occlusal decay, fissure caries, proximal caries, and periodontitis. The aids of this biological and biomimetic caries detection method approve the concept of “early detection equals early treatment.”
LAPIP® Implant failing laser
LAPIP (Laser Assisted Peri-Implantitis Protocols) is a cutting-edge laser treatment that can save ailing and failing implants by using the MVP periclase dental laser. If you have peri-implantitis, you can lose your dental implant due to inflammation that destroys the bone around the implant.
As a certified LAPIP dentist, Dr. Horiyat disperses LAPIP® to reinforce the stability of an infected dental implant by removing bacteria and infection in the gum tissue around the implant, stopping bone loss around it and sometimes helping to regenerate new bone.
q10 LOW-LEVEL LASER THERAPY
A holistic Q10 low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a newly developing technique in dentistry that uses light energy, in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), to elicit biological responses in the body. The increased cellular energy and changes in the cell membrane permeability results in pain relief, wound healing, immune system modulation, and nerve regeneration.
Dr. Horiyat primarily can Q10 laser after restorative dental and surgical procedures to reenergize the cells and promote fast and self-sustaining healing because energy flow at the atom level can be disrupted due to trauma or surgery.
LASER SNORING TREATMENT
NightLase therapy is a non-invasive laser procedure for increasing the quality of a patient’s sleep, reducing the amplitude of snoring, and helping to airways to stay open by tightening and contracting collagen in the oral mucosa tissues of the airways

LASER GUM RECONTOURING
Do you have a gummy smile? Are you displeased with your smile because your teeth are too short, or do you show too much gum when you smile? Do you want to show more of your pearly white teeth when you smile and less pale pink or bright red gum?
Laser gum recontouring is a versatile and common procedure that has both non-invasive functional and aesthetic benefits. The laser gum recontouring can be used for:
- CROWN LENGTHENING
- RESTORATION OF DAMAGED TEETH
- COSMETIC USE
- DENTAL CROWNS
- TOOTH EXPOSURE FOR ORTHODONTICS
LASER GUM BLEACHING
Laser gum bleaching (gum depigmentation) is used to non-surgically vaporize, destroy and remove a thin top layer of the gum that produces melanin (dark pigmentation), which is genetically deposited in the gum of those with darker complexions. Other causes of darkly pigmented gum are the possible effects of smoking, certain medications, metal-alloyed titanium implants, or silver-mercury amalgam fillings. The extra pigment does not indicate any disease or dysfunction, and it is removed as a cosmetic procedure.
TYPES OF LASERS
A soft tissue laser has a specific wavelength that is absorbed by hemoglobin and water to work precisely and effectively for soft tissue conditions. One of the popular soft tissue lasers is the Carbon-monoxide laser which has the ability to kill bacteria, stimulate the re-growth of tissues, and lengthen crowns by penetrating soft tissue and sealing blood vessels and nerve endings. The other soft tissue lasers are Epic Pro™ and Epic X™ by Biolase; However, the world’s first-ever FDA clearance for true regeneration is Periolase LANAP® and LAPIP™ by Millennium Dental Technologies. The soft tissue lasers include diode lasers and Neodymium YAG (Nd: YAG). Soft Tissue Lasers can effectively and non-invasively treat the following soft tissue oral conditions in the mouth:
A dental laser can provide vital periodontal treatments. During the laser procedure, Dr. Horiyat or her hygienists will apply tiny laser fiber between your teeth and gum while using different types of modern laser machines for different conditions and diagnoses. In general, the energy released from the laser will kill and remove bacteria, which will allow your gum to regrow and reattach to your healthy teeth once more.
if you have a gummy smile or uneven gum from excessive gum overgrowth, gum inflammation, redness, and occasional discomfort, our cosmetic dentist can utilize cosmetic gum recontouring laser to give a better and healthier-looking gum by removing and or recontouring your gum line to an optimal shape.
The laser can be utilized to minimize cold sore appearance and redness, speed up cold sore healing, and reduce the chance of recurrence.
A frenum is a naturally occurring muscle attachment, normally seen between the front teeth or under the tongue, which can result in gap teeth, gum recession, or difficulty in speech. The excessive frenum can simply be removed by laser therapy.
A hard tissue laser has a specific wavelength that is absorbed by hydroxyapatite (calcium phosphate in your bones) and water to cut through tooth structures with great precision. The hard tissue laser can eliminate the need for local anesthesia and a dental drill. Hard tissue Lasers include the Erblbum YAG and Erbium Chromium YSGG. The most popular hard tissue lasers are Fotona, DIAGNOdent™, and Biolase Waterlase Iplus® or Express™. Hard tissue lasers are great modern and advanced tools to fix many tooth structure-related conditions such as:
If you have slightly irregular teeth, our experienced cosmetic dentist can use an advanced laser technique to trim your dental enamel or shape your composite filling, which can create a more balanced smile.
If you have a tooth that has broken at or near the gum line, our skilled dentists can utilize laser techniques to recontour a small amount of gum and bone tissue to allow better placement of a crown.
Like ozone therapy, laser technology possibly can be used to reverse or fix a decay at its very early stage without using any dental filling materials. To follow biomimetic and holistic dentistry protocols, Dr. Horiyat uses natural and conservative approaches to remove dental decays while keeping your natural tooth structures.
A hard tissue laser can be used to seal tubules on the root of the tooth that gives a hot or cold sensitivity.
